Lost Highwaymen

The Band

Asher Wood is the best rock guitarist we know, so of course we make him play mandolin most of the time!   His mandolin forms the core of the Highwaymen’s sound, and helps define their musical texture.  He’d want you to get one thing straight before we go any further – it is not a ukulele!  Toting his custom-made hardbodied humbucker mandolin, Asher provides the leads for the Highwaymen, providing anything from a celtic jig to a bluegrass reel, but also burning down the house proving that The Who’s and The Stones’ greatest hits were always intended to be played on the Mandolin!

Rodney Olivier provides the bass substrate that the rest of the band builds on.  A heavy-metal fan by dint of genetics, Rodney has discovered that Canadian maritime songs can be just as challenging as Metallica, demanding only that in exchange for his services he gets to release the funk once in awhile on classic tunes like Mustang Sally and Born on the Bayou.

Rob “Bodhi” Wolff provides vocals, guitar, keyboards and hand percussion for the band, and is the one responsible for the Irish and Celtic influences subtly permeating the band’s style.  A “damned foreigner” as his friends like to call him, he enjoys introducing the band to new songs, and alternate arrangements of old classics.  He works hard on stage to hide the fact that, underneath it all, he is still a shy, geeky science nerd who just wants girls to like him.

Danny Boy” Coughlin has provided the missing big “back beat” the Highwaymen had long been looking for. Pulling from his jazz, funk, blues, and jam band background, Dan has created unique drum grooves that have nicely helped round out the band’s energetic sound. Since the addition of “Danny Boy”, the raw chemistry between these four guys has propelled the Highwaymen to a new level of performance and musicianship!
